Nintendo 3DS Factory Development Cartridge - Refurbished (V1 Type)

These are genuine Nintendo 3DS development cartridges originally used in Nintendo factory and testing environments.

Many of the original cartridges I acquired were non-functional due to damaged PCBs, though the key components—such as the NAND, SPI flash, and controller—were still intact. I reverse-engineered and scanned a multilayer PCB from an original unit and rebuilt the boards by reballing and reusing the original chips. All ICs and components are original Nintendo hardware, not aftermarket substitutes. Each board is restored with care and reassembled in its original yellow shell.

Specifications:

• NAND: Toshiba TC58NVG4S2ELA48 – 16Gbit (2GB)
• SPI Flash: MXIC 25L4001 – 4Mbit (512KB)
• Controller: Megachips MA91707

Functionality Testing:

• NAND fully erased, programmed with a test ROM, and erased again
• Save flash chip erased, programmed, and verified

The cartridge has been left with a copy of retail aging software pre-installed to demonstrate functionality.

Version Info:
These are the V1 variant of 3DS development cartridges, very similar to the CTR FLASH CARD 16Gbit (E203344). Unlike some models, this version includes the save flash chip already soldered to the board.
This is a CARD1-type cartridge. (Note: Some titles require CARD2—those are also available separately.)

Compatibility:
These cartridges can be written using standard Nintendo dev kits such as the Partner-CTR or IS-CTR.
Additionally, I’ve developed a custom GodMode9 firmware, allowing you to write retail or debug .3DS images to this cartridge directly from a modified retail 3DS console.

These cartridges are ideal for development and programming use, as they are fully tested and do not contain any valuable or irreplaceable software—so there’s no risk of overwriting something important.

Condition:
Photos are a representation of the item’s condition—the exact cartridge you receive may differ slightly. As these are used items originally deployed in factory environments, they may show signs of use, including light scratches and occasionally small cracks. However, all cartridges are in very good physical condition, graded as B+.
