Nintendo Game Boy IS-CGB-EMULATOR - DMG CARTRIDGE PROBE 2 – Reproduction

This is a reproduction of the DMG CARTRIDGE PROBE 2, designed for use with the IS-CGB-EMULATORdevelopment hardware by Intelligent Systems. These cartridges were originally part of Nintendo’s official development environment for Game Boy Color (CGB) and Game Boy Advance (AGB) software.

I created these reproduction cartridges due to the scarcity of original units. Each one has been carefully assembled to retain compatibility with official hardware and development workflows.

• The AGB version features a custom 3D-printed shell
• The CGB version is built using a modified original retail shell for a closer physical match to the original probe cartridges

Each cartridge comes complete with a 50cm connection cable for interfacing with the IS-CGB-EMULATOR.

Background Information:
These probe cartridges were used in conjunction with Intelligent Systems’ development kits for both CGB and AGB.
They provide necessary routing for Reset and IRQ (Interrupt) signals—essential for proper communication with the emulator/debugger hardware.
Some models also featured support for a daughter card interface, used for adding additional memory via a special port on the cartridge’s PCB.

This reproduction unit is fully compatible with debugging environments that rely on these signals and connections.
